Guitar Lick #1
Just having a large number of guitar licks to draw from while you are in the middle of a solo or composition is a comfort.
Similarly, guitar licks are often used as a target destinations within a solo. A soloist will travel from one lick to another while doing ad lib in between. The licks themselves are like an anchor, or a solid confident landing spot.
In this study page, Guitar Lick #1 is the first in a series. Each guitar lick is demonstrated the tempo it was originally written. Then it is followed at a slower tempo so that you can see which fingers are being used and where they are being placed. The guitar lick is then play a third time and is rephrased as you might do in a solo.
Guitar playing is rewarding whatever your goal is. Whether you want to improve your skill, meditate, go professional, play with your church, or just relax. It’s all good.
